California WIC’s exciting new partnership with Sesame Workshop will provide local WIC staff with powerful tools for promoting the new WIC foods – and healthier lifestyles. The Healthy Habits for Life campaign is a fantastic opportunity to simplify and align our nutrition messaging statewide for the first time ever, while at the same time co-branding WIC with a beloved and universally recognized preschool education program.
This year’s Fall Conference will feature fun and interactive training to prepare local WIC programs to roll out simple, colorful, and evidence-based messages using toolkits of core materials based on Healthy Habits for Life. We will train you to get started right away with your frontline staff, and help you begin planning to use the materials as part of your Nutrition Services Plan to promote the new WIC foods to participants later next year. There will also be a separate training track for our newly-minted Local Vendor Liaisons.
