Cooking Wellness: A Virtual Culinary Adventure

Family Wellness, Health and Wellness, Health Tips, Nutrition, Recipes, Workshops

Want to join an engaging, educational cooking class, without having to leave the comfort of your own home? Welcome to Cooking Wellness! This virtual event is brought to you by the American Red Cross WIC. It’s hosted by Dr. John Haubenstricker, aka the Rogue Chef, with expert behind-the-scenes support from Katie Bareman, DN, CLEC. Since launching in 2020, this program has become a must-attend experience for foodies and wellness enthusiasts alike.

Follow along with every detail while John whips up delicious, nutritious recipes that you can easily recreate at home. And it’s not just about cooking! This is an interactive experience where you can chat with fellow attendees, participate in live polls, and learn valuable nutrition insights that align with the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

What makes Cooking Wellness even more special? The recipes! Developed by our dedicated dietetic interns — who also happen to be Red Cross volunteers — each dish is designed to be simple, budget-friendly, and packed with flavor. Plus, they’re WIC-friendly, using accessible ingredients that fit into your everyday life. Whether you’re in California, Alaska, Baja, or even the Virgin Islands, you can join us and be part of this vibrant community.

Our July event was our biggest yet, with 84 people coming together to cook, learn, and have a blast. Don’t miss out on the fun! Whether you’re a seasoned home cook or just starting out, Cooking Wellness has something for everyone.

Ready to spice up your wellness routine? Sign up for our next Cooking Wellness event and let the Rogue Chef guide you on a culinary adventure that’s good for your taste buds and your health! Contact Dr. John Haubenstricker of American Red Cross WIC for more information!
