WIC Worksite Wellness
The Value of WIC Worksite Wellness
In April 2009, the California WIC Association (CWA) launched the WIC Worksite Wellness program to support the well-being of California WIC’s 3,000-3,500 employees. The program integrates a practical approach to health and nutrition, incorporating nutrition and health messages that staff share daily with WIC families.
The WIC Worksite Wellness program helps local WIC agencies achieve and maintain Well WIC Worksite certification by providing support and guidance, empowering them to create healthy worksites to promote staff engagement in healthy behaviors and activities year-round.
Bi-Annual Movement/Walking Challenge
That’s a wrap! The September Wellness Challenge finished with a flourish in participation, wellness, and numerous steps that bolstered health, ignited community, and fostered a sense of belonging. Over 279 WIC team members joined the Wellness challenge, tackling challenges of 10k steps, 6k steps, mental health, or individual movement. The motivation of participants stemmed not just from the physical and mental benefits, but also from the fantastic CWA prizes they could win.
Save the date for our next challenge coming in March 2025! Check back for information available at the beginning of the year.
