Building a Culture of Movement at Monterey County WIC

Jan 16, 2026 | Announcements, News, WIC Worksite Wellness

Monterey County WIC has been busy building a workplace rooted in movement, wellness, and wellbeing. This year, their designated Wellness Coordinator has brought fun and engaging fitness presentations to staff meetings, from Tai Chi and plyometrics to sitting exercises and postpartum workouts, completed with 15-minute follow-along routines that get everyone moving.

Their momentum doesn’t stop there. Staff proudly joined WIC Worksite Wellness fitness challenges, with 15 participants logging over 25,000 minutes of physical activity in the May challenge alone! Daily walking breaks are also encouraged, with many staff completing a 0.75-mile loop to de-stress and recharge, adding up to 7.5 miles a week.

Through intentional efforts, Monterey County WIC continues to foster a workplace that values health, movement, and quality of life. Cheers to building a Well WIC Worksite! 🏃‍♀️🌿
